Dockwatch 11/02/2009Houseboat IntruderWhen: Friday, October 16th at about 1:30am Where: 2900 block of Fuhrman Ave. What: "Last night my wife and I were awakened by a man attempting to enter our houseboat. I confronted him. He appeared to be either very confused, drunk or feeble. He was tall, thin, middle-aged and had a mustache. I got him to turn around and leave the dock and watched that he went up to our long stairs rather than into another houseboat. There are a series of small docks here, and you really have to wander far off the street to get down here. If you aren't a houseboater, you probably would not even know about the access. This was first such incident in fourty years." Reported To: Not called into SPD although considered it. Car Prowl on FairviewWhen: Sunday night October 25th. Where: The car was parked near 2031 FVE What: "My car was once again opened with an apparent dealer key and stuff tossed around. Couldn't tell if anything is missing --nothing big. They can't start the engine as we have an engine bypass switch. It was parked in the lot across the street which has a big light. Reported To: SPD. "When I spoke with the policewoman about my car she said they expect a lot of crime with the economy the way it is. She also says they are seeing a lot of registrations being taken from cars and then the thief signs it over to himself and goes and re-registers it to himself." West Precinct Advisory Council FHA Representative NeededWhen: The meetings are the second Tuesday of every month, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Where: The West Precinct at 810 Virginia Street. What: "Terrie Johnston is hoping that someone from the FHA will want to represent their "neighborhood" at a monthly meeting. The West Precinct Advisory Council (WPAC) is made up of representatives from the many neighborhoods served by the West Precinct; such as Queen Anne, Magnolia, Chinatown, Belltown, Pioneer Square, SODO, the Waterfront, First Hill. Ideally there is a residential and/or commercial rep. that attends. This is a chance to meet with the precinct commanders, operations lieutenants, Community Police Team, Precinct prosecutor, and other relevant police personnel and learn what is going on with SPD but more importantly to let Captain Brown know what your neighborhood issues are. The networking that goes on between the reps. is very helpful in combating civility issues; graffiti; noise complaints; liquor licensees, etc. Do you want to represent the FHA for two hours a month?" Terrie Johnston will follow up with anyone interested in volunteering.
